DK Tools wins ‘E-Commerce Solution of the Year’ award for its website

We are delighted to announce that DK Tools has won the prestigious ‘E-Commerce Solution of the Year’ award for the introduction of a ‘silent sales assistant’ onto our transactional business-to-business (B2B) website.

Organised by Retail Systems, the leading website for senior-level technology and business decision-makers in retail and e-commerce, the awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the retail sector. 

How the ‘silent sales assistant’ works on the DK Tools website

The way the ‘silent sales assistant’ works is simple yet ground-breaking. If a product is out of stock online, the DK Tools website automatically suggests an alternative to the user – replicating what a real sales assistant would do face-to-face.

The Covid effect

The company received a large number of account registrations during the Covid pandemic, which meant that orders increased dramatically. While this was obviously a positive development for the company, it meant that many online B2B customers were finding that their first choice was not always available. So, instead of asking them to wait until the product was back in stock, the company decided to implement a system which offered an alternative product there and then.

Transforming the user experience

“With the assistance of e-commerce solutions provider Red Technology, we were able to implement the silent sales assistant within just a few weeks, totally transforming the user experience on our transactional website. Users have found the functionality extremely useful,” comments DK Tools Director Ishan Kalra.

In addition to winning the 'E-Commerce Solution of the Year ' award, the silent sales assistant has also been nominated for the upcoming Global E-Commerce Awards.

The silent sales assistant is another example of the way DK Tools is always looking to help its customers get the products they need when they need them. In addition to the ‘Covid effect’, recent disruptions in shipping and transportation meant that the delivery of some products was delayed. Instead of making our customers wait, we endeavoured to offer an alternative product whenever we could.
